The Burton Cummings Theatre for the Performing Arts, formerly known as the Walker Theatre and the Odeon Cinema, is a live performance venue located in Winnipeg, Canada. The venue first opened its doors to the public in February of 1907 with an inaugural performance of 'Madam Butterfly' by the New England Opera Company, and it wasn't until 2002 that the theatre took on its current name - in honour of one of Winnipeg's most distinguished and respected singer/songwriters. The Burton Cummings Theatre is currently the oldest of the last three standing grand theatres of Winnipeg and since re-opening in 1991, has received notable recognition on both a local and national level.
