Account answers
- How do I change my location?
-
Well, that's a great question. We have a few answers for you depending on which location you're asking about.
The location on my profile:
The location on your profile is the same location one we use when we send you relevant Weekly Bulletin emails. It's also the location we use to help generate the My Eventful section of the site.
To change this location, you can go to My Eventful and look in the second section titled "Favorite performers' events near me". Look for the link titled "Change my location" in that area.
-
The location I'm currently searching:
This is what we call your "current location" because it's set to whatever you recently searched. It's not permanent by any means, and you can change it in quite a few places. The easiest way to change it is to go to the home page and click on the link titled "Change location" near where the categories list of events is.
- How do I change my username?
Having an identity crisis? We can help...
Just write us and include your current username and your desired username. (back to top)

Demand answers
- Tell me about the "Demand Widget".
- We've created several widgets designed for fans and performers to leverage Demand outside of Eventful. You'll typically choose a different widget depending on where you are posting it.
Flash Demand Widget - Made for MySpace & Websites
JavaScript Demand Widget - Made for Blogs & Websites
Facebook Demand App - Made for Facebook
Fans post Demand Widgets in order to encourage other local fans to Demand a performer in their town. Performers post the Demand widget on their own websites, MySpace Page, and Facebook Page in order to ask their fans where they should tour. (back to top) - What is "critical mass" for a demand?
-
The "critical mass" is the number of demands required in a particular location for a performer to book an event. This number is solely determined by each performer.
Performers can login to their Performer Dashboard to view up-to-date stats on where they are demanded, and the demographics of the fans demanding them.
If the performer doesn't know about us yet, though, we'll contact them for you when we think there is enough of a critical mass to get the performer to come and play. Of course, that's very subjective on our part, but we'll at least contact the performer and let them know that they have a ton of people who want to see them play in a particular area. Then it's their call! (back to top) - Hey, my attempt to join a demand didn't work! What should I do?
- We do limit the number of demands you join for one performer. We also have a fraud check so that fans cannot artificially increase demands, demanding the same artist come to their town over and over. Sometimes, this gets in the way when a few people try to sign up from within the same network or from the same computer.
If you think you're experiencing this issue you can: (a) use a different computer if possible, or (b) wait 24 hours and then try again.
We have these rules in place so people are counted as accurately as possible while trying to avoid counting any person more than once. Sometimes people try to vote more than once (just like the election process), and because we're trying to help the performers judge the actual number of people who would come see them in a particular area, we work diligently to catch fraud as best as we can. (back to top) - What if I change my mind about joining a demand?
- Go to the Demand Page you want to leave. To get there click "My Eventful" (in the top header), scroll down to the "My Demands" section, and then find and click on the Demand you want to leave. Click the yellow "Demanded" button to be removed from that particular demand. That's it! (back to top)
- How do I report fraudulent activity?
- If you know of fraudulent activity, please contact us with all the evidence you have so that we can investigate. (back to top)
- How do I post a Demand Widget on my MySpace page, blog or website?
- Go to the performer's page on Eventful and you will find the Demand Widget featured on the side of the page. Click "customize" to change the colors and size and to get the HTML code for the widget. Now just paste that widget code into your MySpace page, website, or blog! (back to top)
- Why doesn't the JavaScript Demand Widget work on MySpace?
- MySpace does not allow JavaScript. However, our standard Flash Demand Widgets have been designed to work on MySpace. (back to top)
- Performers: Why isn't my Demand Widget displaying all the cities where I am demanded?
- You probably have the city-specific Demand Widget posted rather than the global Demand Widget. You can get the code for the global Demand Widget by going to your Performer Page (in the search drop down select 'performers'). In order to get the city-specific Demand Widget go to a specific Demand Page (in the search drop down select 'demands'). (back to top)
