      Faith-Based Emergency Planning Workshop

Although we’d like to think that emergencies would never happen in our community, devastating natural disasters (like tornadoes and floods) have hit close to home recently, and disease outbreaks or man-made attacks are increasingly real threats. Local agencies in Lincoln,St. Charles and Warren counties are working together to prepare our community’s response and safety efforts. If a disaster were to happen a plan has been developed to provide assistance and protection for residents that would mitigate damage and reduce the disruption to normal operations.

Even with this regional effort, part of the responsibility falls upon you. By doing whatever you can to prepare in advance, to practice your routine and to respond to information provided, you will help to ensure the well-being of yourself and others. To help your organization understand risks it may face and to assist your membership in their individual planning, a Faith-Based Emergency Planning Workshop is scheduled for Tuesday, May 7 (9 a.m. to Noon) at Quail Ridge Lodge (inside Quail Ridge Park in Wentzville). We hope that your organizational leaders will make plans to join us.

Among the topics we plan to cover are:

      • Why is Pre-Planning Important (I Didn’t Know What I Did Not Know)?
      • How Can My Organization Prepare For Disaster?
      • What Can Individual Families Do to Prepare Themselves?
      • What CommunityResources are Available, and How Can We Help?
