      EVENT DETAILS
      Billion Dollar Trio

Formed at The Juilliard School in 2011, Billion Dollar Trio is one of the newest and most exciting chamber music groups coming out of New York City. BDT comprises award-winning virtuosic musicians Alexey Gorokholinsky, clarinet, Adrian Daurov, cello, and Tomoko Nakayama, piano. The Trio strives to communicate the intellectual and emotional elements of life by broadening the audience’s perspective through a varied range of repertoire.

A native of Russia, Alexey Gorokholinsky began studying the clarinet at age 7. He holds bachelor and master’s degrees from The Juilliard School, where he won the Juilliard Clarinet Concerto Competition and made his New York City debut at Alice Tully Hall with the Juilliard Orchestra. He was also a top prize winner of the Eastern Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, Jefferson Symphony, and International Clarinet Association competitions.

Versatile cellist Adrian Daurov regularly performs in programs ranging from classical solo recitals to shows with Alicia Keys, Josh Groban, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Sarah Brightman and the Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Ros. Since Mr. Daurov’s debut as a soloist with the St. Petersburg State Symphony Orchestra, he has received the top prizes at prestigious international music competitions in the Netherlands and United States. He earned bachelor and master’s degrees from The Juilliard School in 2009.

Praised for her “superior technical facility and musicianship,” pianist Tomoko Nakayama has been acclaimed as both a collaborative pianist and harpsichordist. Ms. Nakayama has appeared most recently with the New York Philharmonic Ensembles, at Merkin Concert Hall, New York, and at the Tanglewood Music Festival. She is a member of the Chamber Orchestra of New York, playing both piano and celesta. A native of Japan, she holds a bachelor of music degree in harpsichord and a master of music degree in collaborative piano, both from The Juilliard School.
