Spiro Mounds Archaeology Day/ Birthday Bash

A day devoted to archaeology and history at the only prehistoric, Native American archaeological site open to the public in Oklahoma. Archaeologists will be on hand to identify artifacts from your collections ( please limit yourselves to a dozen or so items). Reenactors will display about several periods of history, a flint knapper will be showing off his skills at making stone tools. Artists will be showing and selling their wares, many with the incredible 1,000 year old Spiro Mounds designs. A guided tour of the site will take place at 2 p.m. This is a Free Day although donations are appreciated. The Center is located 4 miles east of Spiro, OK on Highway 9/271 and 4 miles north on Lock and Dam Road. Most GPS systems have us in the wrong location.
