      A full-day workshop outlines the critical aspects of analyzing cultural data and making findings actionable. Sessions are a combination of lecture presentations and interactive exercises that expand thinking. The workshop covers topics in trend analysis, brand strategy, and innovation and places these topics into the context of real case studies. The course also includes free access to Culture Mapping Food & Beverage Trends 2018 and Culture Mapping Beauty Trends 2018 Reports. The workshop will be in English.  Session Moderator: Tim Stock Co-Founder & Managing Partner, scenarioDNA and Adjunct Professor at Parsons School of Design Agenda 1. Introduction:  Unlocking the Power of Culture An overview of the importance of culture in the context of a recent case study 2. An Introduction to Research Methods for Analyzing Trends Understand how culture and trends converge and the research framework needed to efficiently structure these insights to solve business and design challenges. Understand the importance of language and how to analyze it as cultural data. 3. Analyzing Packaging Workshop An interactive session to decode the hidden meaning in brand packaging to understand broader cultural themes impacting the world. Deciphering the relationship between explicit meaning and implied meaning would build frameworks for how broader trends evolve. 4. An Introduction to Culture Mapping Learn how we can structure social data into a system of meaning to uncover archetypes and codes to be leveraged for innovation. This is an introduction to the method used in the trend reports we will discuss in the afternoon session.  -  Lunch Break 5. Trends Data Visualization Dashboard Workshop Participants will be given access to Culture Mapping trend reports and dashboards and will be given an opportunity to learn how to navigate through the application 6. Trends & Innovation This session will review the current challenges of innovation and offer techniques for analyzing emergent and disruptive futures in the context of various categories such as fast fashion and food. 7. Developing Retail Strategies as Cultural Narratives Learn how unlocking stories can help us analyze and forecast how retail can evolve.  The session will refer to a retail case study as we explore how cultural narrative and design strategy converge. 8.
