      In this program, you’ll learn how to:

       

      Select, fillet and cook fish perfectly
       
      Plan a dinner party menu that is healthy and delicious
       
      Create gourmet sauces to take your menu to a whole new level
       
      Confidently pair wines with healthy foods, like salad, fish and vegetables
       
      Prepare a dessert that even a pastry chef would brag about       
       
      Easily time your food so everything is fresh & presented beautifully, without stress
       
      Cook a gourmet multi-course meal for a crowd, without breaking the bank


      In this LIVE training, you’ll experience:

       

      ~ 3 live cooking classes with Jenny and Marisa, includes a healthy, delicious, meal and wine tastings

       

      ~ Participation in delivering a benefit dinner on Saturday, August 24th

       

      ~ Recipes, menu planning tools and budget guidelines

       

      ~ Celebratory call to review the benefit dinner & learn tools to plan your next party or event

       

      Program Dates and Schedule:

      Tuesday, August 20th, 5:30 to 9:30 pm:  We will prepare and enjoy a healthy, 4-course meal with wine pairings

      Wednesday, August 21st, 5:30 to 9:30 pm: We will prepare and enjoy another (completely different) healthy, 4-course meal with wine pairings

      **We will then decide as a group which menu items will be featured at our August 24th dinner**

      Thursday, August 22nd, 5:30 to 9:30 pm: We will prepare food items for Saturday (there will also be a meal for us to enjoy together)

      Saturday, August 24th, 12:00 to 2:00 pm: Meet at New Leaf kitchen and prepare last minute menu items. 2:30-7:00pm: Prepare and execute our meal for 75 people at the Homeless Garden Project's beautiful outdoor farm and kitchen

      TBD: Celebratory wrap up call to discuss our experiences and learn to plan and prepare your own healthy dinner party

       

      This experience culminates in the class preparing and presenting the SUSTAIN dinner on August 24th to benefit the Homeless Garden Project.  This exclusive dinner experience is an integral part of the learning for this program.

      About Us:

      Chef Jenny Brewer believes that healthy food should be fun & flavorful. She’s a graduate of the Natural Gourmet Institute for Health & Culinary Arts in New York City, has a Masters degree in Nutrition and has been teaching nutrition and cooking for over 10 years. Chef Jenny is the creator of www.nourishingnutrition.com an online resource teaching people how to cook healthy foods that taste delicious. She's the co-host of Green Tea and Honey, a weekly radio show about food & health and her recipes have appeared on numerous websites and publications. She currently lives in beautiful Santa Cruz, CA with her happy recipe-testing husband Eric. After cooking and eating, her favorite pastimes are playing beach volleyball, practicing yoga and singing with the Inner Light Ministries Choir.

       

      Marisa Johnston is a four-star chef who is passionate about making healthy food that is worthy of the finest restaurants. She’s been the Executive Chef at Google and Costanoa Resorts and has worked with Emeril Lagasse at Fetzer Vineyards. Currently, she runs By Marisa, a full service catering company offering healthy, gourmet food so you can have nutritious, gourmet meals in the comfort of your own home.  Marisa currently lives on the beach in Santa Cruz, where she plays beach volleyball and skates with the Santa Cruz Derby Girls as her alter ego, ‘Deviled Leggs’ Johnston.
