      The Ketogenic Diet: A 3 Week Series

      With Anti-Inflammatory Chef & Kitchen Witch Co-founder Magali Brecke, and Holistic Nutrition Consultant Madia Jamgochian This three-part series breaks down as follows: Week One: Keto What? Basics of Ketogenic Nutrition Making Keto effective for you starts with understanding the WHY behind all the buzz. In this first session, we will take a stab at your metabolism, and how the shift from sugar burner to fat burner begins in the body. We will also begin to understand the food groups that make up a Ketogenic plate, and touch on the many Anti-inflammatory 'diets' (Paleo, AIP, GAPS etc) that work well with Keto.  Week Two: Getting There (and maybe staying!) Armed with the knowledge of WHY, we know dive into the HOW. How do you get yourself into an effective state of Ketosis? How do you maintain that state, and for how long? Here, we will discuss good practices, and provide solid measurement tools for monitoring your body's shift to Ketosis. Live blood testing will be performed and shared! Week Three: Crusin on Keto Lets makes this real for your life! This class will focus on meal planning and prepping, eating out, and strategy for making this a fluid change, rather than a confusing burden. You will leave with recipes, resources, and references. Full keto meal served in class. About the Instructors: Magali uses her background in Traditional Chinese Medicine to cook anti-inflammatory meals for personal clients, tailoring each menu to their dietary needs. She founded the Kitchen Witch Bone Broth company, which started in response for the need to provide high quality, healing nourishment to the community. Madia graduated from Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition in 2013 after completing her BA in Environmental Studies and Exercise Sports Science at UCSB. Shortly after, she started her personal consulting business My Healing Habits. She enjoys educating on how to heal inflammatory and autoimmune conditions, and believes in the food-as-medicine approach.
