      Irish Christmas in America

This popular, atmospheric, family-friendly entertainment, rich in history, humor and boundless enthusiasm returns to Santa Cruz bigger and better than ever as a multi-media event availing of Kuumbwa's neew digital projector and screen. The spectacular show features lively traditional tunes, evocatively sung Irish ballads and carols, stirring narration bringing to life ancient customs and stories, thrilling Irish dancing and photographic images providing a rich historical context. The stellar cast of Irish luminaries includes show producer and All-Ireland Fiddle Champion Oisin Mac Diarmada from the award-winning group Teada, the ebullient button accordionist and sweetly soulful singer Seamus Begley, the exhilarating sean-nos (old style) Irish dancer Brian Cunningham, heavenly harpist Grainne Hambly, virtuoso uilleann piper and flute player Sean Gavin from the brilliant band Bua and as special guests one of the most ballyhooed vocal acts to emerge from Ireland in recent years, Lumiere, comprising the terrific talents of singers Eilis Kennedy and Pauline Scanlon with guitarist Donogh Hennessy, former member of Lunasa. Take a memorable glimpse into the enchanting spirit of Christmas as some of Ireland's traditional performers take you on a distinctively Irish journey during the 2013 holiday season.
