      33rd Annual Watermelon Festival

      Set for August 16-17, the 33rd Annual Watermelon Festival offers arts and crafts, a variety of watermelon contests, car and truck show, tractor show, food vendors, children's activities, games, and continuous musical entertainment, along with free samples of the juicy melon.

      The festival weekend begins with opening ceremonies at 5:45pm on Friday. Music fills the air beginning at 6pm when Leann Trapp takes the stage. The gospel group New Ground is set to perform at 7pm followed by local favorite KGB at 8:30pm. The music continues on Saturday beginning at 4pm with performances by Joseph Baldwin, Red Bay's FFA Quartet and String Band, Briana Deann, The Springs, and The Flashbacks. Additional free local entertainment can be found on Saturday from 10am to 4pm in the historic Roxy Theatre, the Tractor show, and the First Baptist Church Park.
