Chase Field in downtown Phoenix sits as a comfortable, air conditioned, full-service oasis amidst the surrounding dessert. Chase Field -- originally known as Bank One Ballpark -- was constructed in 1998, just in time for the Diamondbacks' inaugural season. To control the temperature extremes in Phoenix, the stadium became the first in the United States to feature a retractable roof. The roof not only blocks the sun's rays from patrons, but helps to regulate the venue's massive air conditioning system. Hardcore fans also have the option of renting the RideNow Powersports Pool "Suite", which is located in right-center field and features a huge pool, jacuzzi, and patio type area from which to view the game.
