In my day without any VIDEO GAMES they had PINBALL GAMES and donut shops were not a great place. NOR were the 7-11 stores. BUT the Arcades & BOWLING ALLEYS were as well as the BARS [those that sold pizza & had a restraunt attached would allow any age to enter]. MY favorite places were POOL HALL places so i could play the PINBALLS and BOWLING ALLEYS. Yes i too would spend all my allowence & earned income on PINBALL MACHINES so in a way that too made me a "GAMER" but using a different type of games than the "NEW" "NOW" "FUTURE" generation did. I've played machines that have blowen up on me, glass breaks and i keep playing, bar robberies and i keep playing, cops bust the bar and i keep playing, bowling alley fires [smoking in the boys & girls room sometimes starts fires] YET i played through some of the bowling alley fires. AND some i hated it when the fire people kicked me out during a huge high score pinball game. Arcade pinball game machine blows up in my face [Thomas Mall in Phoenix, AZ = EVERYONE had to clear out of the mall including the ice-skaters & the included next door restraunt = I had just gotten the all time high score on the pinball by 10 score roll-overs and going for #11 when the thing blew up on me]

Another thought. If Will should ever want to play any childhood types of ARCADE games then what he can use on his computer is = http://mamedev.org/ = MAME = Multi Arcade Machine Emulator and he will be able to play all AND MORE of the games he used to play before they dissappeared from the places he used to visit. PS = When i used to use this software the size of the EXE was in the hundreds [HUNDREDS OF K-BYTES] and now it's into the MILLIONS [apx 10 MB]

Added info.... I'm age 60. AND when i was growing up they didn't have VIDEO GAMES. But they did have PINBALL GAMES and i did get 3rd prize in 1973 in Phoenix AZ Pinball Machine contest & later i did get 1st prize in 1976 in the Coin Machine Association Pinball Contest in Syracuse, ny. CLUE TO BEATING THE COMPITITION = THINK AND ACT LIKE SPOCK [Star-Trek Origional Version] = half human & half volcan THUS you will have that winning player mentality. Wil says he has Atari-2600 on a flash drive WELL i have it on my "K" Hard drive. Used to have a Atari STe [computer] with 2.5mg of memory & 2 floppy drives & one 30 mb hd. But they didn't have VIDEO GAMES COIN OPERATED GAMES until they came out with the road racer and that space shooter game. LATER they came out with other video games. PS = Because i had gotten so good at playing PINBALL GAMES they baned me from entering into any PINBALL GAMES in the local bars because i could turn the score around upwards of 20 spins and more and put all the compitition out to pasture forever. That's how my brother got himself many FREE cases of beer before they baned me from doing local PINBALL contests.

All my life [due to family problems with my dad acting with the family like Hitler & Saddam Hussain] i always read SCI-FI novels in my attempt to excape reality and imerse myself with WHAT IF I COULD SOMEDAY BE SOMEWHERES ELSE. Thus i got into SCI-FI alot. Watched the origional Star-Trek 2 times a week [one in Syracuse, NY & the other on a Canadian TV brodcast of it]. Watched all the Star-Trek NG, DS9, ST Voyager & ST Enterprise & ALL the ST Movies & Starwars and most all other STAR type SCI-FI movies & tv shows. Have attended UFO conventions. [DO I BELIEVE IN SOMEONE OUT THERE = Yes. but to get the huge picture of where they are you have to think on terms on one grain of sand in a huge bucketfull of sand.] Someday we might find somene out there. I even go in for 3D VIRTUAL REALITY Browsers = activeworlds.com = This is one example of building in a Virtual Reality UNIVERSE. [maybe someday someone might meet someone from any or all the past Star-Treks] When you use this software you should think of it as hopping into a HOLODECK UNIVERSE By my use of this software i got to finish an old phrase that is just right for anyone who builds using that software = Follows the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder one = Beauty Of The Build Is In The Eyes Of The Creator AND Those With The Insight To See The Beauty Of The Build.

I may be one of those crazy fans who never saw Wil on Star Trek (not a Trek fan... DON'T KILL ME!) but loved him in Stand By Me and Toy Soldiers. Glad I recently found both his blog and books!!

Wil, I am the Author of Children's Books. Do you have an agent? It seems to be quite difficult to get an agent unless you are a movie star or a President of a country......Every one loves my book, but I do not know how to get it out to the public. I attended the LA Times Festival of Books last Sat. and sold a ton of books, all the children loved my character, Cedric. Can you give me some experienced advise? This is the first book published of a series of 12 the name of this book is Cedric & Pete's Sailboat, all the stories are about lessons to be learned about life. Thanks, Marianne

Wow, I think Wil's just gotten hotter with age, heh. I'm only 21, but I have a big crush on him. Is it even possible to have a crush at 21? Oh well, not only is he a talented actor, he's a voice actor too, which is what I'm aspiring to be! Wil you rock!!!!

Wil Wheaton wore a rainbow sweater for 6 years on star trek and then they made him teleport himself off the show. Thats how good he is.
