Toby Turner is a Los Angeles-based YouTube comedian with over 290,000 subscribers and 30 million views on YouTube. His channel is currently the #99 most subscribed on YouTube.
Toby was born in Mississippi to a family with 73 first cousins. Seriously. After a few weeks of that, he packed up his diaper bag and fled the state. Unfortunately, it was too late - he was already named "Toby Joe Turner."
Buzz from his videos has led Toby to work with some major networks, including NBC, Disney, Fox, MTV, Sony Pictures, Spike, and others. In 2009, MTV sent him around the US to interview bands for the VMAs. Shortly after, he hosted a holiday web-special for Comedy Central, Spike and VH1. Toby has starred in several shorts and one feature, "New Low," which was an official Sundance Selection in 2010. "New Low" received rave reviews in Variety, and currently maintains an 8.0/10 rating on IMDB. Toby was also recently chosen to voice the lead character for an upcoming PS3/X-Box 360 title from Ignition Entertainment. He plans to happen to be playing that game every time anyone comes over to his house.
Toby took an interest in acting at an early age, when he was given the lead role in an elementary school play. His mother recorded it, and to Toby's dismay, has shown it to each of his girlfriends. Toby began creating videos for the web in 2006, when one of the options for a class assignment involved creating a video. It was well received, and Toby then began to take a serious interest in the creation of comedic videos. In 2007, Toby traveled to 9 cities to perform an hour-long live show that incorporated videos and music into a stand-up routine.
In October 2008, Toby moved to Los Angeles to fulfill his lifelong dream of living in Los Angeles. His dream was achieved immediately upon arrival.
