Despite his Canadian origins, Michael Bublé's rich baritone voice has been compared time and time again to that of "Ol' Blue Eyes" himself, Frank Sinatra. Many feel that Bublé has actually revived the type of classic big band crooning that was once so popular on albums and tour dates. Michael Bublé's heartfelt love songs convey visceral and beautiful emotions, while his more upbeat songs carry with them an undeniable toe-tapping rhythm. Michael Bublé has three Grammy's under his belt, one for his most recent 2010 album, Crazy Love. The artist has been touring continuously since the release of the album and is back with more concert dates; including summer US tour dates in 2011.
As a teen, Michael Bublé worked summers with his father as a commercial fisherman, while his grandfather would exchange plumbing services in return for stage time for the young singer. In 1993, at the age of eighteen, Bublé won a local talent contest, but was disqualified by the organizer, Bev Delich, for being underage. Impressed with the teen, Delich entered him in a youth talent contest which Bublé won, afterwards asking Delich to be his manager.
By 2000, Michael Bublé's career hadn't taken off and the discouraged singer was about to give up and move to Vancouver. That all changed when he was invited to sing at the wedding of the daughter of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney. At the wedding, Bublé met Grammy award-winning record producer David Foster. After a fair deal of begging from the singer, Foster finally agreed to cover the production costs for an album. The singer's self-titled debut was released in 2003, becoming a hit around the world; except the US where the album was initially only a moderate success. Michael Bublé promoted the album with a number of concert dates in 2003, as well as performing songs for a number of movie soundtracks.
The exposure from US tour dates brought exposure for the album, as it eventually went gold in the US and prompted a second album in 2005, titled It's Time. The album was a commercial success on the charts of nations around the world, especially Jazz charts. His 2007 album, Call Me Irresponsible, garnered even bigger success, having sold more than five million copies and going platinum twice in Europe. The record debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, moving to the #1 spot the very next week. It was at this point that Michael went from playing in bars in exchange for his grandfather's plumbing work, to playing sold-out tour dates in stadiums around the world. Michael Bublé's success grew to astronomical proportions with the release of his latest album, Crazy Love, in 2009. The album debuted at #1 on charts worldwide, including the Billboard 200, and saw Michael Bublé headlining numerous tour dates in the US and around the world.
After over a year of numerous concert dates, Michael Bublé has more US tour dates in 2011 for the month of June. The tour will begin on June 1 in Austin, TX, end on June 25 in Duluth, MN, and only make stops in states in the eastern part of the country. With so few concert dates in so few cities, fans should check Eventful to see if he's coming to a town near them.
