Best known for his role in movie spoofs and Judd Apatow projects, Kevin Hart is an accomplished actor, writer, and stand-up comedian. Having appeared in more than twenty films, six stand-up specials, and three solo stand-up specials, Kevin Hart's career has been on the rise for eleven years. Even with a number of film appearances (and a few starring roles) coming up in the next few years, Kevin Hart still finds time to refine his comedy on the road; including a tour in 2012.
Kevin Hart was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on July 3, 1979. Hart attended Temple University while working as a shoe salesman and performing at comedy clubs around Philly. After three years of struggling as a stand-up comedian, Hart was first discovered by Judd Apatow in 2001 and appeared in his short TV movie, North Hollywood. Kevin next appeared in another Apatow project, Undeclared, as an overly religious college student in 2002. Kevin received his first starring role in the 2002 movie, Paper Soldiers, which saw the comedian acting alongside Stacy Dash, Michael Rappaport, and Jay-Z. In 2003, Kevin made his first spoof appearance in the movie Scary Movie 3, which would later lead to roles in Scary Movie 4, Epic Movie, Superhero Movie, and Extreme Movie.
2004 was a big year for Hart, as he received his own Comedy Central Presents stand-up special, gained a role in Along Came Polly, a recurring role on the series The Big House, and had a starring role in the movie Soul Plane as airline owner Nashawn Wade. In 2008, Hart appeared in the movies Fool's Gold, Meet Dave, and Drillbit Taylor, as well as hosting BET's Comicview. In 2009, Kevin Hart received his first hour-long, stand-up special on Comedy Central, titled Kevin Hart: I'm a Grown Little Man. 2010 was also an eventful year, as he was featured in the hit movies Death at a Funeral and Little Fockers, as well as starring in the film Something Like a Business. Also that year, Hart's popularity earned him another stand-up special, titled Kevin Hart: Seriously Funny.
Kevin Hart will take on his role as CJ again in Scary Movie 5, which is scheduled to be released in 2013. In the meantime, Hart can currently be found on his stand-up tour in 2012. The tour will visit mostly cities in the Eastern United States, with a few performances in Canada and Northern Europe. Fans can check Eventful for the full list of concert dates this year.
