When Hillary Clinton lost the Democrat nomination, I like many Hillary people became supporters of John McCain! John is a very nice and righteous individual, who commands the respect of many! I am a US citizen and registered voter. I am, also, by the history of China, Emperor and head of state in exile. View my profile!

Tonights debate was historic in value as the gap between candidates was drawn in the sand for Americans to clearly see. In one candidate being (clearly) all talk due to lack of knowledge and experience. While the other had nothing but experience, knowledge and who showed compassion in a way that made me proud to be an America. Clearly John McCain is the pick for our country and for anyone to remain with Obama after what was demonstrated tonight in the debate would be siding with Obama for reasons other than what is best and good for the American people.

Alexi, that borders on the lamest argument anyone can come up with. The government has controlled our bodies for years. They tell us what drugs we can and can't use. They tell us how old we have to be to drink, drive, vote, enter a contract. We can't sell our body parts or commit suicide, against the law. Not only that but it isn't just a womens body once she starts to create a new life. You don't want to have a child, Don't get pregnant. And before you beat me up I know the arguments about rape and incest. Adoption is a better option. There are many families that would love to have a child no matter how it came to this world. To John McCain, Thank you for having the courage to make the right choice for your VP. There are a number of areas that I haven't always agreed with you on, but this one I give you a 100%. Obama's idea of change is hooking up with an old boy insider so entrenched in the establishment, shows the only change he is interested in is changing the resident at the White House. Personally, (not to offend) but there are times I would like to see a complete turnover in our elected officials. Eight to ten years should be enough for anyone. If they can't get it done in that time, then another 20 isn't going to help.

Bio
John McCain was born August 29, 1936 in Coco Solo in the U.S controlled Panama Canal Zone. After high school graduation in 1954, McCain entered the United States Naval Academy and graduated in 1958. McCain became a Captain in the United States Navy. On October 26, 1967, McCain was shot down over Vietnam, and was held as a prisoner of war in Hanoi for five-and-a-half years, mostly in the infamous Hanoi Hilton. He was released from captivity in 1973. He was honorably discharged upon his retirement from the Navy in 1981.

During his military career he received a Silver Star, a Bronze Star, the Legion of Merit, the Purple Heart, and a Distinguished Flying Cross. Official Senate Biography

When John Jacob Rhodes, the longtime congressman from Arizona's First Congressional district, announced his retirement, McCain successfully ran for the seat in 1982. In 1986, upon Senator Barry Goldwater's retirement, McCain was elected to succeed him.

John McCain has a remarkable record of leadership and experience that embodies his unwavering lifetime commitment to service. First elected to the U.S. House of Representatives from Arizona in 1982, John has led the fight for reforming Washington, eliminating wasteful government spending, and strengthening our nation's armed forces.

John McCain's reform agenda to reduce federal spending and lower taxes quickly elevated him to statewide office and he was elected to the United States Senate in 1986, after serving two terms in the U.S. House.

In the Senate, John continued to demand that Congress put an end to loopholes for special interests and fix the broken system in Washington that too often allows lobbyists to write legislation and members of Congress to waste taxpayer money. In November 2004, Senator McCain was overwhelmingly reelected with nearly 77 percent of the vote.

As the son and grandson of distinguished Navy admirals, John McCain deeply values duty, honor and service of country. John attended college at the United States Naval Academy, and launched a 22-year career as a naval aviator upon his graduation. He continued the McCain tradition of service to country passed down to him from his father and grandfather when he asked to serve in the Vietnam War.

Senator McCain has seven children and four grandchildren, and currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona with his wife Cindy.
