I, Superbiker follows 4 superbike riders through their dramatic British Superbike Season. The riders are the new gladiators, battling at 200mph, riding through torturous conditions and risking life and limb at every race meeting. Only one can be the true champion.
The film intimately follows the great British hope, Tommy Hill, a fearless racer who cheated trackside death at 14 years old, and whose parents have sacrificed their home, holidays and all finances to support his burning ambition to be Britain’s number 1 superbike racer, as well as James Ellison, the northern heartthrob who came second in 2009 and HAS to win to save his career. The film also tracks Gary Mason, who has everything to prove and a lot to lose, and James ‘Bad Boy’ Brookes, the black leather clad Australian out to steal the crown from the British hopefuls. All four contenders are battling it out to lift the coveted crown at the end of the 2010 season, and I, Superbiker captures all the drama and tension of the season on and off the track.
Directed by Mark Sloper, in addition to the spectacular visuals, I, Superbiker also features a score by David Vanian of the Damned, music by Phil Collen of Def Leppard and Manraze.
The film will premiere in London on March 10th, and will be screened at cinemas across the UK for one night only on Monday March 14th.
