Bio
He is hip-hop's reigning lyricist and beat maker, having sold more records than any other rapper of the Nielsen SoundScan era. In fact, Eminem sold more records than any other performer in the 2000-2009 decade and is one of the highest selling artists in history. The Eminem concert schedule has been released, with Eminem tour dates scheduled nationally throughout spring and summer 2011. With credentials like his, you can expect Eminem tour dates to be the hottest hip-hop event this summer.

Marshall Mathers became Rap's reigning king with a slew of commercially successful singles and a persona that kept him in the media spotlight. As a protege of Dr. Dre, it seemed like Eminem was destined to become a rap superstar. The duo produced and wrote his major label debut, The Slim Shady LP, in 1999 and released it to huge commercial success. The lead single, "My Name Is," marked a change in direction for hip-hop and made Eminem a mainstay on radio and on MTV. Known equally for his personal life as much as for his beats, Eminem's emergence was as controversial as it was commercial.

The follow-up, The Marshall Mathers LP, proved to be even more successful selling nearly ten million copies in the US and providing even more commercially successful singles in the US. Eminem tackled issues such as fame, domestic abuse, chemical dependency, and pop culture. The album debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and sold 1.78 million copies in a week, becoming the fastest selling solo album in history. Eminem tour dates were booked on 2001's Up In Smoke Tour with rap heavy-hitters Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube. The Eminem concert schedule also had him crossing over onto the rock infused "Family Values Tour" with Limp Bizkit, which highlighted his broad and transcendent appeal.

It would seem almost impossible to top the success that Eminem was experiencing. However, Eminem did just that with the release of 2002's The Eminem Show, and 2004's "Encore,"-- both of which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 album charts, solidifying the star's position as the highest selling rapper in US history. Following these album's releases, Eminem released a greatest hits album and focused his efforts towards producing music for proteges on his own Slim Shady label, the likes of which include 50 Cent.

Eminem was out of the spotlight for a few years before returning with the critically maligned, Relapse. Released in 2009, the album featured several kitsch records that made minimal impact on radio. He was quick to record a follow-up, Recovery which featured the hit #1 singles "Not Afraid," and "Love the Way You Lie," which are both lyrically and musically some of his best work to date.
