With all of the amateur dance competitions on TV these days, people often forget about the talent, grace, and physical prowess that professional ballroom dancers exhibit. Burn The Floor is changing all that, with dozens of talented dancers, elaborate scenery and vignettes, and heart pounding music. Over the years, Burn The Floor has included some of the world's most popular and talented dancers, including Mary Murphy of So You Think You Can Dance and Brian Fortuna of Strictly Come Dancing. While Burn The Floor, isn't currently on Broadway, it can be found in a number of countries, including upcoming tour dates in the UK.
Burn the Floor is a collection of dancer numbers, each with its own theme, costumes, and highlighted dancers. The members of the show perform ten different types of international style ballroom dance, separated into standard dances (Waltz, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz, Tango, and Quickstep) and Latin American dances (Cha Cha, Rumba, Samba, Paso Doble, and Jive). The dances are performed against stunning backgrounds to excellently performed percussion and music. While originally part of the competition known as dance sport, at Burn the Floor the audience is the true winner as these acclaimed dancers keep their patrons on the edges of their seats.
Burn the Floor is currently playing in Johannesburg at the Joburg Theatre and will come to Perth at the Regal Theatre in mid-August. 2011 tour dates will be available in the Netherlands beginning in September, and a tour will come to the UK in late October. Don't miss this opportunity to see the premier ballroom dancing stage show on its upcoming performances in 2011!
