Very few times in history has a variety show act ever turned into a hugely successful entertainment company; especially without uttering a single word. The Blue Man Group has accomplished this and more, utilizing an unorthodox style and even more unusual instruments. Their tour dates have featured stunning visual and auditory displays that have been without rival since the group's inception in 1987. What once started as three men struggling to book tour dates has now turned into a worldwide sensation with shows in the US, Germany, Japan, and on the open seas. The Blue Man Group is also traveling throughout North America, with plenty of tour dates in 2011 and 2012.

Chris Wink and Matt Goldman had been friends since junior high and reconnected in New York City circa 1984. They soon met Philip Stanton and the three friends became inspired by the tuned PVC instruments of the Brazilian band, Uakti. The trio began to experiment with their blue personas and other entertaining routines while performing at clubs around NYC. One of Blue Man Group's first shows, Tubes, sold out thousands of tickets in the early 90s and soon made its way to Chicago and Boston. They released their first album, Audio, in 1999 and soon after began selling out tickets on tour dates, adding new "shows" with new routines every few years. In 2000, Blue Man Group was given a show called Live at Luxor, which not only gained the group wider exposure, but also paved the way for their current Bluephoria show at The Venetian. Wink, Goldman, and Stanton are still a part of the Blue Man Group, but have taken managerial and executive positions at Blue Men Productions. The company organizes all of the group's performances and concepts, including hiring actors/musicians to play the Blue Men and developing new instruments.

Blue Man Group is currently performing their time-tested show, Now More Wow, at Astor Place Theater in New York, Charles Playhouse in Boston, and Briar Street Theater in Chicago. Bluephoria is still playing in Las Vegas and there is a special Blue Man Group show selling out tickets at the Universal Orlando Resort. Internationally, the Blue Man Group is performing at the Bluemax Theater in Berlin and at the Roppongi Blue Man Theatre in Tokyo. The Blue Man Group is also playing tour dates on the Norwegian Cruise Line, annually performing on the Norwegian Epic. In North America, there are also current tour dates in 2011 and 2012 for most major cities, meaning that audiences around the country can watch these groundbreaking antics.
