Azealia (Ah-Zee-Lee-Yah) Banks is a nineteen year old artist from New York. She was born and raised in Harlem. She is the coolest bitch on the planet. She began her career at the age of ten with the TADA! Youth Theater in Downtown Manhattan. Seeing her passion for performance and the stage, the company's employees suggested she audition for the F.H.LaGuardia High School Of Music Art and Performing Arts. After being rejected from the Drama department her freshman year, she entered the school as a vocal major, re-auditioned, and was accepted into the drama department her sophomore year.

While Azealia's original passion is for theater and the stage, she began rapping at the beckon of her friends during her junior year of high school. Creating a small buzz with a few rough demos, She was signed to XL Recordings in July of 2009 after being discovered on Myspace earlier that year. She is currently working in conjunction with XL towards a future debut.
