ALMOST FAMOUS is one of the best bands around today. That's a bold statement, but it's exactly what you'll be saying after you experience one of their shows. ALMOST FAMOUS is a hard rock band from New York City made up of multi-talented musicians from the NYC music scene: Mason Swearingen (Vocals), Dave Koch (Guitar), Kenny Kiernan (Bass), Chris Milillo (Drums), and Alan Wayne (Keyboards).
Collectively the members have performed or toured in support of Peter Frampton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, John Entwistle, Steve Miller, and many more. On July 20th ALMOST FAMOUS performed at North Haven CT's Music Under the Stars series for nearly 4,000 music fans, and will be featured at Pearl Street Live in Albany, NY in support of Fran Cosmo (former singer of Boston) with Crossfire (Alive at Five) on Aug. 5. The band has also garnered attention for it's songwriting skills; Dave and Mason have won songwriting awards which include special recognition in the Billboard Songwriter's Contest, and have loaned their talents to numerous local artists on the New York music scene.
Captivating crowds with great Rock & Roll has always been the goal of ALMOST FAMOUS, and doing so has made them popular all over the north east and beyond. Their shows are for fans of any age who love to ROCK. Blazing guitars, searing vocals, and energetic live performances are reminiscent of 70s and 80s arena rock greats like ACDC, Van Halen, and Motley Crue.
The band is currently working on their first album which should be available late summer 2010. Wasted Time and That's Rock & Roll! are the first two cuts. ALMOST FAMOUS is a completely independent band under no contract obligations.
