High Notes & High Tea XXXIV - Music of Louis Spohr

The New England Chamber Choir directed by Richard Wm. Donohue will present music of Louis Spohr, a 19th century German composer who specialized in symphonic and operatic works. Besides his music, Spohr contributed greatly to the world of music by inventing the violin chin rest and the rehearsal mark. While Louis Spohr enjoyed great professional success during his lifetime, his music is rarely heard today. This performance will feature some of his works for solo voice and vocal ensemble.
