      Childbirth Education Class

This class covers stages of labor and the comfort measures to manage the labor process. Focus is on controlled breathing, relaxation, positioning and mental techniques to support the mother in labor. There will also be instruction on the proper use of an infant car seat, although bringing a car seat is not necessary. Expecting couples will also receive a tour of the obstetrics department located on the 3rd floor of the bedtower. **Please note: There will be no class offered in the month of July 2017. The remainder of classes for 2017 will be announced soon.***  FAQs What are my options to pay for class? Online via credit card or debit card Check or money order by mail to the designated address. At the door for Medicare/Aetna clients (see explanation below) via signed voucher/signed check   Does Medicare cover the cost of this class? Certain Medicare clients are required to participate in the Nebraska Medicaid Managed Care Program. If you are one of these clients, you'll be enrolled in a Managed Care Organization (MCO). Aetna Better Health of Nebraska is one of the MCO's that provide Medicaid benefits to eligible members. Faith Regional Health Services is an Aetna Better Health of Nebraska approved provider of services.  You will need to show your membership card and complete an Aetna payment voucher for the instructor on the day of class. You will also need to provide a signed check for $50.00 payable to Faith Regional Health Services. Once we receive payment from Aetna, we will kindly void your check and mail it back to you. Your check will only be cashed if we do not receive payment from Aetna.     How long does class last? Class begins at 8:00am, breaks for lunch and will end by 4:00pm.   Do I need to bring anything to class? You should bring a notebook and pen or pencil to take notes. There is a lot of information given in a short amount of time. Also, be sure your labor coach attends with you as you both will benefit from the information and skills you learn. You should also bring several pillows as you will be down on the floor practicing labor techniques. And you may want to wear comfortable layers of clothing. The room temperature may vary to individual preferences and we want you to be comfortable throughout the day.
