      North Alabama Scottish Festival and Highland Games

      The Clan Cochrane Society invite visitors to come and enjoy the Heavy Athletic Competition, Stan Moore's Border Collies performing all day, Scottish Harp Society, Irish Step Dancers, Highland Coos, Music, Music, Music! Colin Grant-Adams, The Hooley Murder, the Stout Richard Van Vaulkenburgh. There will be special activities for the children including: Glitter Tattoos, crafts, as well as Kiddie Caber Toss and Haggis Toss. There will also be a wide variety of Scottish vendors and our Clan Row is not to be missed! Bring the family Pet for our "Pet Parade", prizes will be awarded. Scottish and American food will be available on the grounds.

      7 am - Setup for clan tents
      8:30 am - All vehicles off the field
      9 am - Gates open to the public
      11 am - Opening ceremonies, Parade of Tartans, Presentation of honored clan.
      4:30 pm - Closing ceremonies
      Saturday's activities include athletic competitions, Stan Moore's border collies performing all day, The Scottish Harp Society, Irish step dancing, Highland Coos and Lots of Music in the amphitheatre. Featured entertainers are Colin Grant-Adams, The Hooley, Murder the Stout, and Richard VanValkenburgh. There will be special activities for children including a kiddie caber toss and haggis toss.
      Bring your family pet and enter them in the pet parade in Clan Row immediately after the opening ceremonies. Prizes will be awarded.
      A wide range of Scottish vendors, including books, music, weaponry, jewelry, kilts and tartan, as wll as other Scottish items will be available. Both Scottish and American foods will be available on the festival grounds.
      Heavy Athletic Competition
      A full seven event , 3-class (A, B, Masters) athletic competition will be going on at the athletic field all day. Come watch the turning of the caber, sheaf toss, and other strength events. For information contact Jim MacLean @ 256.858.0689 or by email:
