      EVENT DETAILS
Taste of NEW HAVEN Food & Drink Tours: Westville Sunday Afternoon Tour

Take a Taste of New Haven! The city's latest culinary and cultural incarnation is led by the animated and knowledgeable historian and food and drink lover Colin M. Caplan. Take a taste that will fill you up and inspire you.

Every week Colin leads a group of culinary adventurers through historic Westville. The tours included multiple food and drink stops with a carefully crafted menu that shows off some of the city's best cuisine and cultural surprises. The tours will be expanding to Downtown and East Rock soon. Private tours are also offered.

You have two choices of tours in Westville: a Friday evening tour starting with a wine tasting, or a Sunday afternoon tour starting with the farmer's market. Both tours offer exclusive insider experiences showing where our food comes from and how the chefs prepare it. See why people are calling this tour the new "buzz" around town!

      FAQs:

How do I purchase a ticket for a tour?

Tickets must be purchased by credit card and only at www.tasteofnewhaven.com, or via www.eventbrite.com or www.facebook.com.

How far in advance should I purchase tickets?

Tours should be booked at least a week in advance. If you are booking a larger group booking two weeks in advance is suggested.

What are the food and drink stops?

City Seed Farmer's Market, Westville Wines, The Theater at Lyric Hall, Delaney's Tap Room, Manjares Fine Pastries & Tapas Bar & Frio Gelateria.

      How long is the tour?

      About 3 hours

      Where should I park?

There is usually ample free street parking on the surrounding streets. You can also park at a metered lot two blocks away on the corner of Whalley Avenue & Blake Street.

Is there a waiting list if a tour is sold out?

No, since there is limited capacity on each tour.

Do you provide gift certificates and coupons?

Yes! You can enter your special code at checkout.

What is your refund, rescheduling or cancellation policy?

Since the tours are set up in advance and are limited in number we charge a $20 fee for all rescheduling or cancellations that cannot be rebooked, or are within 48 hours of the tour. We will make exceptions for real emergencies only.

Can you accommodate people with food allergies or dietary restrictions?

We will do our best to create a menu for you if we are given enough notice about your food allergy or dietary restriction. We will inform you in a case where we may not be able to accommodate this.

Should I tip the tour guide?

You should tip your tour guide if you had a good time! Think of your guide as a mobile restaurant server.

Are the tours rain or shine?

We will hold the tours in most weather so please come prepared. We will reserve the right to cancel tours with a full refund in the case of extreme weather. We will give you at least 24 hours notice if this happens.

What should I bring with me?

We suggest bringing weather appropriate clothing and accessories. We do provide a reusable shopping bag which you can use to purchase items along the tour and you can take it with you.

Are your tours given in languages other than English?

No, but you may request to bring your own translator.

Are pets allowed on the tour?

No, sorry you'll have to keep them at home.

Are we allowed to use a camera during the tour?

Yes, we love photos, videos and audio!

Do you offer privately led tours?
