"When you think of Nappy, you think raw and untamed," says Nappy Roots member Scales, explaining the hip hop sextet's unique moniker. "But you also think pure and natural." "That's what we are," chimes in partner in rhyme, Skinny DeVille. "Our name signifies our unwillingness to conform with fads. Once the fads die out, you always come back to the roots."

These Southern Hip Hop innovators from humble Kentucky roots have taken the scene by storm since their 1999 independent record Country Fried Cess.  Their first major label release "Watemelon, Chicken, and Gritz" was the best selling hip hop album of 2002. Their 2003 release "Wooden Leather" featured production by Kanye West, David Banner, and Lil Jon and made waves in the charts.  They have independently produced 3 albums since with 2010's "The Pursuit of Nappyness" having been their last album. Don't miss these Hip Hop legends as they make their way through Muncie on Thursday, May 30th!

H.O.M.E. Team will be bringing their infectious brand of soul to the stage before Nappy Roots.  Featuring a full backing band and some unapologetically hype swagger the H.O.M.E. Team brings one of the best live Hip Hop performances you could hope to see!!!

H.O.M.E. Team has rose to the top of the HIP-HOP scene in the Midwest and is ready to take on the music industry’s best for the title. H.O.M.E Team has created a sound that is unprecedented in the music world. Born Mark Ivy aka Markie Mcfly (Producer/Artist) and Vincent Gordon aka VTG (Artist) make the talented duo who go by H.O.M.E. Team(House Of Music Ent.).H.O.M.E. TEAM has always showed a creative genius towards music and performing since an early age. Mcfly crafted melodies far before he had any desire to be a rapper while VTG’s unabashed personality was ready for the bright lights. Today H.O.M.E Team clearly is one of the most recognized artist to hit the air waves. With their laid back swag and word play they captivate listeners with egotistical driven anthems urging competitors to take the talents to the next level on songs like "Turn Ya Swag Up", and “Big Deal”, while on songs like “I Need A Girl” and “Unbelievable” they cater to the all of the ladies needs. H.O.M.E. Team tells stories of triumph, perseverance, and success as they navigate their way through all the obstacles of life while dodging negativity. Markie Mcfly and VTG are totally in a class all by themselves whether writing, producing, or rapping, this duo is ready to live out their dreams as the next big thing in hip hop.

White Trash Blues Revival will be kicking the night off with some Southern inspired folk americana jams.  This Fort Wayne 4 piece brings the rock n roll on their DIY instruments.  These dudes seriously bang on pots and pans and play bass on broomsticks... a real treat to see.

Joe Bent plays the first ever fully functional skiddely-bo... and he plays the hell out of if too! The skiddely-bo, a diddly-bo, of his own design created out of a skateboard, a red stripe bottle, and two guitar strings grind out the dirtiest of the delta blues. A 2x4 for support, a simple broken guitar pick-up and a Marshall half-stack completes the sludgy delta sound.

Ol' Sausage Paw, you may know him from a little blues rock outfit known as Left Lane Cruiser. Well, he decided to put away his real drum kit and bring out his garbage. OSP or Brenn as others might know him bangs the shit out of a cardboard box, a paint tin, a trash can and an electrified 5 gallon bucket.

Rounding out the group is Ando on his Gutbucket Bass of Death. After stealing his mama's wash bucket and drilling a hole in the bottom Ando went months without washing his clothes.

Dirty Pete Diva started playing with the group to fill in for Ol' Sausage Paw when he was playing rockstar with his other band. Pete brings his old school punk energy blasting out hip hop beats on his trusty 13 year old keg still half full of stale beer.

DJ DOLLA BILL will be on the decks.  Special guest appearances TBA:

Doors at 8, show starting around 10.

It's Thursday so you can expect 50 Cent PBR until we're out!  Also $1 Choco Noir shots, $2.50 Well Whiskey Mixers, $3 Po' Folk Punch, and $10 Select Micro Brew Pitchers!!!
