This documentary educates, engages and equips Americans to act on one of the most transformative issues of our time: the blurring of color lines as a new identity politics emerges. "How Jack Became Black" explores the impact of the multiracial baby boom upon a nation that has embraced identity politics, leading to more Americans being locked into racial groups. The film opens simply: a multi-racial father is stunned when his mixed race son is denied enrollment to an elementary school for refusing to check a "race box." Why did race matter so much? To find out, the father takes an uncharted journey across America where he confronts and exposes identity politics. The film asks a critical question: Is it too late to begin a movement back to the individual?Join Marla Estes & Rob Schlapfer to view this film along with a community conversation.
