Come hear Robert Templeton, writer and teacher, talk about the great raptor migration that occurs in Veracruz, Mexico each year. Do you know where migrant bird species can be found in the winter? It turns out that many travel through Veracruz, Mexico. Here, one can witness a phenomenon called "super-flocking", where (usually solitary) birds of prey form huge flocks to conserve energy during migration. Timing is everything as suddenly, half a million raptors fly by in a 4-hour period, which makes for great videos and a compelling experience of nature. Free.
