See the new PBS documentary about the Valles Caldera on the big screen! Part 1, The Science tells about scientific research into climate change being conducted on the Preserve as well as the geology, the geologic forces that formed the Caldera super volcano (with 3 D animations of eruptions), the current hydrology within the Caldera and the effects of fire in the region. LANL scientists consulted on the film and made many of the animations. Some of these consultants will be there to answer questions after the film. Tim Aydelott, the director, will also be on hand. Appearing in the film is retired LANL geologist Fraser Goff. Technical Assistance to the film was provided by Brent Newman through the NM Small Business Assistance Program. The coordinator of that project for the film was Becky Coel-Roback. Special pricing of $10 for adults and $5 for children, with proceeds benefiting PEEC.
