East of downtown Lafayette, across “the tracks” lies a quaint hidden gem called Sterling Grove. Recognized as one of the most historic neighborhoods in Lafayette, Sterling Grove Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.
Encompassing rich history and extraordinary homes this neighborhood is one of the Northside’s best kept secrets. Originally comprising around twenty-five acres, the neighborhood was once solely part of Charles Alexandre Homere Mouton’s plantation.

Sterling Grove Neighborhood Association is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Organization

Last year the Sterling Grove Neighborhood Association non-profit organization was officially formed in efforts to ensure the preservation of one of Lafayette’s oldest regions. The close nit network of neighbors meets monthly for an evening of community planning, organizing, camaraderie, and amazing home cooked meals. Stay tuned to the Association’s Facebook page “The Sterling Grove Press” for upcoming spring events.
