      EVENT DETAILS
      Paddle Clinch River

We will paddle the Clinch River from the Miller Island boat launch (River Road) to the Highway 61 boat launch just north of Clinton. The total paddle distance is about 11 miles including a short detour up Coal Creek. The Clinch is a wide river with cold, clean, and clear water. The scenery varies from hillsides to farmland. Plentiful waterfowl can be seen along the banks as well as a few river otters. The paddling conditions are variable depending on operations at the Norris Dam. The river is flat with occasional riffles with no TVA generation at Norris. The flow of the river picks up considerably when two generators are operating. Each participant will be responsible for their own kayak or canoe and pfd.
