      The Tennessee Handgun Permit Class

      Required Before Applying for Your Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit.

      You will learn the basic knowledge, skills, laws, and attitude necessary for the safe carry of a handgun. Instruction provides each student with information on the citizen's right of self-defense and use of deadly force.  Upon completion students may apply for his or her Tennessee Harndgun Carry Permit. About Our Handgun Carry Permit Class
      Our course is taught at our State inspected and certified handgun academy and indoor shooting range by State and Nationally certified instructors. The Handgun Permit Course is open to men and women, within three months of their twenty first birthday.

       Class length is mandated by the State of Tennessee at eight (8) hours.

      In Our Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit class you will learn about the

      • Permit qualification and application process
      • Firearm safety and maintenance
      • State and Federal law relating to handgun carry
      • When the the use of deadly force may be justified
      • Criminal & civil ramifications of using deadly force
      • Basic handgun and ammunition instruction*
      • Basic firing range protocol and marksmanship
      IN THE CLASSROOM: Each student is required to take a short written exam.
      ON THE RANGE: Each studnet must shoot a short course of handgun fire or shooting qualification. This takes place in our modern, clean indoor range and consists of firing forty-eight rounds: 12 rounds at 3 yards, 24 rounds at 7 yards, and 12 rounds at 15 yards.
      Students are NOT required to shoot the same handgun that they later may wish carry. Feel free to bring and shoot your 22 pistol or revolver. Students may rent handguns for qualification including ammunition.
      LET US KNOW:  If you have special needs for either the written exam or range portion of the class.

      Graduates of this course receive the certification required to apply for a Handgun Carry Permit in the State of Tennessee. In addition, all students receive a Certificate of Completion suitable for framing.

      For This Course You Will Need
      • A handgun in safe working condition
      • 50 rounds of ammunition (unless you rent from us)
      • Comfortable clothing
      • Pencil and paper
      • Eye and ear protection (or use ours)
      • A Snack or bag lunch (or you will have time leave for lunch)
      * BEFORE taking the Tennessee Handgun Carry Permit Course you MUST be able to safely operate the handgun you plan to use in class including how to operate the safety, load, fire, and unload the firearm - there can be no exceptions to this rule.

      Seats in our classes are limited and cannot be reserved without payment. You may register and pay on-line, by phone, or you may come to the store at least one day before the class. However, seating is limited so don't wait until the last minute. Classes are geneally sold out.

      Refund & Rescheduling Policy
      • In order to keep our prices low, we count on every seat being filled. 
      • Thus, if someone who has reserved a seat does not show up, we cannot offer refunds. 
      • Therefore, class fees/tickets are NON-refundable.
      • However, we allow you to reschedule up until three (3) days before the date of the class you have registered in.
      • If you reschedule you will be subject to pay any price increase as well as a rescheduling fee of $15.00 for each ticket you reschedule.
      • Remember to call no less than three (3) days prior to your class date.
      • Failure to call and reschedule three (3) days before your class will result in the forfeiture of all ticket/class fees.

      Is my registration/ticket transferrable to another person?

      Yes, but only if you call at least three days before the class and you pay a $15 transfer fee.
      Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

      If is best if you do. However we can check you in without it.

      What is the REFUND POLICY?

      Class fees/tickets are NON-refundable. By registering you are buying a ticket for a seat in a limited class. To reschedule, you must call three (3) days before your original class date (price increases and/or fees may apply). Failure to call three (3) days before your class will result in the forfeiture of ticket/class fees.

      The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

      No, because we would not know who is in attendence. However, if someone has given you their ticket please have them contact us 3 days in advance of the class time so we can adjust our records. There is a $15 fee for transfering a ticket to another person.

      I missed my class. May I get a refund.

      In order to help hold down the cost of our classes, we count on every seat being filled.  Thus, we do not offer refunds (see Refund Policy above).

      I want to add more people to my Group.

      Once you have completed your registration, you have to begin again with a new registration to add more people.
