Anyone who might be interested in joining us for that pre-race fuel sesh should check the box at sign up. We'll send out an email in late February to confirm the numbers for the Inn. Parking Half Marathon: Because Jim Thorpe is a quaint mountain town, parking will most definitely be limited. No matter where you park, you'll have to take a brief shuttle ride to our starting area. Shuttles will be available to return you to your car after the event. The easiest option: Purchase a Mauch Chunk Lake Festival Parking Pass ($5) with your registration. It will allow you to park at Mauch Chunk Lake. This guarantees you a spot in a specific lot on race day. To encourage car pooling, if three or more runners arrive in your car, you will receive a full refund for your parking pass. Another option: Park in the Carbon County Municipal lot about three-tenths of a mile from the finish area for $6. This lot is on a first-come-first-served basis. Once it is full, runners will be directed to one of our overflow lots, which will be free, but will require longer a shuttle ride. Owl Creek 5K, 10K, and Team Relays: Participants will park in the lots and on the road around Owl Creek Reservoir.Half Marathon Transportation to the Starting Line Because the half-marathon will start on top of a mountain, there will not be parking by the starting line. Free shuttles will take participants from the parking lots to the starting line. The shuttle ride from Mauch Chunk Lake takes approximately 5 minutes. The ride from the Carbon County Lot takes approximately 8 minutes. AwardsHalf Marathon: All finishers will receive a unique finisher's medal. In addition, prizes will be awarded to the top three M/F overall, the top three M/F masters, and the top three M/F in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+5K, 10K, and 15K Team Relay: Prizes will be awarded to the top three M/F overall and the top three M/F in the following age groups for the 5K and 10K: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ The top teams in the team relays will also win awards. The Trifecta: Any runner who completes the Half, 5K, and 10K will receive a very special award--details to follow!CharityA portion of the proceeds from the race will benefit Turn to Us, Inc., a local Jim Thorpe area 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides assistance to the families of children and adults with terminal illness.
