      Course Title: IWalk2.0 Professional Fitting Certification   Presented by: Iwalk 2.0 Hands Free Crutch   Sponsored by: Pisces Healthcare Solutions   Course Description This is a 1 hour continuing education course in educating clinicians on patient identification, selection, fitting, and gait deviations of lower extremity modified crutch.   Following course, Clinician will be able to assess patient’s physical requirements for hands-free crutches, perform a standard fitting of the Iwalk, make modifications to fitting, and assess and rectify gait patterns. Following the course there is an exam for the Iwalk2.0 Professional Fitting Certification.   Learning Objectives 1.    Identify physical requirements needed for alternate crutch mobility device. 2.    Identify patient limitations and contraindications for success on alternate crutch mobility device.    3.    Identify adjustment points of Hands-free crutch to accommodate patient’s leg size, shape and alignment. 4.    Identify steps of fitting and adjustments 5.    List Pre-ambulation stabilization drills 6.    Describe ambulation progression and post fitting adjustments 7.    Describe psychological barriers to success 8.    Perform patient education of donning and doffing device, stair negotiations and car transfers Learning objects will be assessed by certification test. Scoring 90% meets certification. Activity includes opportunities for participation through structured interactive opportunities   Assessment of Learning Outcomes: PT or KT Practitioner will become more familiar with current mobility options for lower extremity non-weight bearing injuries.  Will be able to provide a simple fitting assessment for a patient and make modifications for gait variations.  Practitioner will be aware of current resources available for challenges during fittings.   PT Higher Learning Objectives LEVEL 3: Clinician will apply information learned to actual situations or to make a choice from alternatives.  Clinician can indicate how the information would be applicable to his/her clinical practice. Clinician will demonstrate/defend a preference of mobility device and justify it’s best interest in safety and independence of the patient.
