Johnson Museum of Art Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art, 114 Central Ave, Ithaca, NY 14853, USA
In this exhibition, student curators in the History of Art Majors’ Society will explore new conceptions of space in visual culture and fine art. Through a selection of works from the Johnson’s collection, the exhibition will unpack the idea of space as a stylistic and formal entity, theoretical trope, and sociopolitical tool, investigating new contrasts and negations of space in the modern, abstract, and intangible world we live in.
This exhibition is funded in part by grants from the Student Assembly Finance Commission and the Cornell Council for the Arts, along with a generous gift from Betsey and Alan Harris.
