It's a film about creativity and passion, about tragedy and happiness. Pim de la Parra, who was born and raised in Suriname, a Dutch colony which became independent in 1975 made the first film shot in Suriname in 1976 about the people and his homeland. It was badly received and was the reason for the downfall of his very successful filmmaking career in Holland.
