      Hickory Alive! Schedule Announced

      Once again, Union Square in Downtown Hickory will be alive with music on Friday evenings as the popular Hickory Alive series returns. This year’s line up has something for everyone. So grab a chair and head Downtown!

      June 4 The Newz Rock & Alternative Andi Balloun opens
      June 11 Baby Black Pop, rock, & R & B Marson Nance opens
      June 18 Chrome Rock African Dance opens
      June 25 Scoot Pittman Rock Steel Drum opens
      July 2 Social Contraband Hard Rock
      July 9 Blindvision 80’s & Pop African Dance opens
      July 16 Extraordinaries Classic Rock and Beach Andi Balloun opens
      July 23 Xerockx 80’s Hair Band Marson Nance opens
      July 30 Hyndsyte Rock Chris Byers opens

      This annual free event is held every Friday night in June and July on Union Square and features an array of local musical talent. The pre-show begins at 7pm with the main act running from 8pm until 11pm.The Hickory Jaycees and the Hickory Downtown Development Association sponsor this popular event.

      Cold adult beverages from United Beverage will be available for adults with proper ID, with proceeds going toward the development of young professionals through the Hickory Junior Chamber (Jaycees). In addition, soda and other non-alcoholic beverages will be on site. Downtown restaurants will be open before, during and after the concert. Several retail businesses will be open during the event.

      The Humane Society of Catawba County will be supplying orange and lime slices for twenty-five cents to top off your beverage at Hickory Alive again this year. All proceeds will benefit the shelter animals. HSCC will be there for every concert.
