Herkimer Now and the Village of Herkimer are proud to announce the very first Herkimer Superhero Sprint!

Have you always wanted to dress up like a superhero and run like a wackadoo down Main Street? Here is your chance! This is not a competitive athletic event, rather an event where creativity is rewarded. Create your best costume or pull on your favorite Batman pjs or even make up your own superhero persona - as long as you are in costume, you can participate!

We will also need some VILLAINS too! If you would like to be a villain, be sure to choose the VILLAIN registration option.

NOTE: This is just the pre-registration for the event. The actual registration will be the DAY OF and will be $2 per person. Cash only please!

The race day will be full of games and fun and some refreshment at the end, provided by some of our local businesses.

Registration tables will be set up near the Historic Four Corners at noon. See you there!

FAQs

Is there an age limit to enter the event?

Anyone can get involved! We encourage whole families to participate. You can push a stroller for the tiniest members, if necessary! And maybe that old cane has some super powers?

Uh, I don't run.

That's fine! You can walk the whole way. This is not a timed, competitive run! And all abilities are welcome. Your wheelchair can be your awesome chariot for the day. Or maybe you'd like to ride in the Villain Car? Just come on down!

Why is this event happening?

We want to create more fun, family-friendly, all-ages events downtown, where anyone and everyone can have a good time. The small registration fee for the Superhero Sprint will go toward the cost in establishing Herkimer Now as a 501(c)3 non-profit so that we can continue to follow and build on the model of the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Main Street program.
