      ABOUT CHRISTINE GORDON Christine Gordon, a past president of the Wet Paints Studio Group, is an acrylics painter who lives in Sayville, N.Y. with her husband of 43 years. Born in Brooklyn & raised on Long Island, she is self-taught and enjoys painting still-life & outdoor scenes. In 2006, she was honored to paint the official New York State egg for the White House at Easter time. The egg is now part of the permanent collection of the George W. Bush Library in Texas. She also had a 13 year run at the Chrysalis Gallery in Southampton, where her miniature paintings were sold. She has taught kids & adults to paint on canvas, wood, and eggs too! Christine joins us this year giving acrylic painting workshops on the grounds of the Arboretum. ABOUT THE WORKSHOP This is a good, basic acrylics painting class for beginner to intermediate students. I will give a brief explanation of the properties of this medium and some of the surfaces it can be used on. Color mixing and brushes will also be discussed & demonstrated. Students will be able to complete an 8"x10" painting during this session. Description for Acrylic egg painting (Wednesday, 4/3/2019) Wooden eggs will be used for this fun acrylics painting class. Paint an Easter egg to keep or give to someone special! I will also give instructions for hollowing out real eggs so that you can paint & decorate them at home. Description for ornament painting in Acrylics (Wednesday, 11/6/2019) Paint your own holiday ornaments to keep or give as gifts! I will demonstrate simple designs & brush strokes that you can use to create your ornaments. Each student will be given 3 ornaments to work on. Class Fee $40 with a $10 material fee payable to instructor. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHAT TIME DOES THE WORKSHOP START? The workshops are two hours from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM in the Upper Carriage House. On Wednesday, April 3, 2019, Is a special Easter Egg Painting Class On Wednesday, November 6, 2019, is a special Ornament Painting Class IS THERE A MATERIAL FEE? The workshop costs $40 plus there is a one-time material fee of $10. In total the class is $50. IS THERE A MINIMUM/MAXIMUM CLASS SIZE? For this workshop, there is a minimum class size of 2 and a maximum of 12. ARE THERE REFUNDS?
