The O2 Academy Glasgow opened in March 2003, the occasion marked by a one-off performance from the band Deacon Blue.

With a capacity of 2,500, the mid-size O2 Academy Glasgow still manages to attract some major names from the music world. The Killers, Papa Roach, The Fratellis, Flogging Molly and Papa Roach are just a few of the acts to have appeared on The O2 Academy Glasgow schedule over the years.

The venue prides itself on the diversity of its featured performers. Pop and rock groups, DJs and stand-up comics have all at one time or another, called The O2 Academy Glasgow home for a night. In fact, each year, the widely renowned venue is transformed into a comedy club as part of the Glasgow Comedy Festival, and features nightly shows from the likes of Russell Brand and Jimmy Carr.
