The Barrowland Ballroom Glasgow, or 'Glasgow Barrowlands' is a national institution.     Not enough metal and rock bands play here anymore and I don't know why. Motorhead used to play here alot. Bring back metal to the barrowlands!!!!The floor feels really bouncy so its great for jumping about on :)

    I think people would love lise venue for the same reasons as me mostly the atmospher because people can feel they love for music.

    I love this venue through its atmosepher its cool place 2 have a gig also throght its size u get pritty close 2 the stage which I love. I think it would be terrible 2 have an indoor gig and not get pritty close 2 the band, I think the barrowlands has every thing.

The Barrowland Ballroom Glasgow, or 'Glasgow Barrowlands' is a national institution. Built in 1934, the Glasgow Barrowlands building was destroyed by a fire in the late fifties, reopening in 1960 after a complete rebuild. Despite its relatively small capacity of 1,900, the Glasgow Barrowlands boasts acoustics unparalleled by most other venues in the UK. Indeed, in a BBC Radio 1 Poll taken from over sixty bands, the Glasgow Barrowlands was voted the Number One Best Live Music Venue in the UK.

The high regard in which the Glasgow Barrowlands is held is evident in the list of acts who have performed there over the years; Justin Timberlake, Slayer, U2, Greenday, Rage Against the Machine, Britney Spears, Garbage, Oasis, Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Blondie, The Cure and Arctic Monkeys are just a few of those who have played Glasgow Barrowlands gigs in the past, and the stars continue to flock there.
