      S-215 Fire Operations in the Wildland/Urban Interface 2019

      Training Course: S-215 Fire Operations in the Wildland/Urban Interface   This is a National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) training course designed for individuals currently qualified as a Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1) with knowledge of their agency firefighting policy as it relates to wildland/urban interface fires.* This course is designed to assist structure and wildland firefighters who will be making tactical decisions when confronting wildland fire that threatens life, property, and improvements in the wildland/urban interface. Instructional units include interface awareness, size-up, initial strategy and incident action plan, structure triage, structure protection tactics, incident action plan assessment and update, follow-up and public relations, and firefighter safety in the interface. Participants should have wildland fire experience and must have completed S-130/190 (Basic Wildland Firefighter) and S-131 (Firefighter Type 1) prior to this course. Please bring your IRPG. *NOTE: S-131 Firefighter Type 1 will be held in the same location on June 18th. To attend this, you must register separately for that course on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/s-131-firefighter-type-i-2019-registration-58859463239.   When/Where:   Two-day classroom training on June 19-20th at Doyle Conner Building in Gainesville FL, 9am to 5pm each day.   Registration:   The fee is $100 (does not include lodging) The DEADLINE is May 21st (or until capacity is reached!)   Lodging:   Participants are responsible for securing their own lodging. UF/IFAS discounts are available in Gainesville for this event (information provided at checkout)     Meals:   Participants are responsible for bringing their own lunch. Coffee, water, and snacks will also be provided throughout the training. Payment:   Must be processed through the Eventbrite website at the time of registration. There are 2 payment options:   Pay with a CREDIT CARD online at the time of registration on the Eventbrite website. The confirmation email contains your reciept. Pay by CHECK* via mail by requesting an INVOICE at the time of registration on the Eventbrite site. The invoice will be emailed to you within 2 days. Payment is then due within 10 days, and no later than May 21st.   *If you intend to pay by credit card, do NOT select the invoice option - those selecting the invoice option that later wish to pay by credit card will be required to re-register and will be placed on the waitlist if the course is at capacity.   All cancellation requests are subject to a $25 fee; NO refunds will be offered after registration closes (May 21st).
