      S-131 Firefighter Type I 2019

      Training Course: S-131 Firefighter Type 1   This is a National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) training course designed for individuals with wildland fire experience who are currently qualified as a Firefighter Type 2 (FFT2), and who desire to be qualified as a Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1) or Incident Commander Type 5 (ICT5) in the National Interagency Incident Management System: Wildland Fire Qualification System Guide (PMS 310-1). This course is designed to be interactive in nature. In addition to lectures, the course contains several tactical decision games designed to facilitate learning the objectives and facilitate class discussion. Topics include fireline reference materials, communications, and tactical decision making. *Note: S-133 is no longer offered; material previously covered in that course is now covered in the S-131 course. All participants should have wildland fire experience and must have completed S-130/190 (Basic Wildland Firefighter) prior to this course. Please bring your IRPG to the class. *NOTE: S-215 Fire Operations in the Wildland/Urban Interface will be held in the same location on subsequent days (June 19-20th). To attend this, you must register separately for that course on Eventbrite: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/s-215-fire-operations-in-the-wildlandurban-interface-2019-registration-58860195429.   When/Where:   One day classroom training on June 18th at Doyle Conner Building in Gainesville FL, 9am to 5pm.   Registration:   The fee is $75 The DEADLINE is May 21st (or until capacity is reached!)   Lodging:   Participants are responsible for securing their own lodging. UF/IFAS discounts are available in Gainesville for this event (information provided at checkout).    Meals:   Participants are responsible for bringing their own lunch. Coffee, water, and snacks will be provided.  Payment:   Must be processed through the Eventbrite website at the time of registration. There are 2 payment options:   Pay with a CREDIT CARD online at the time of registration on the Eventbrite website; the confirmation email contains your reciept. Pay by CHECK* via mail by requesting an INVOICE at the time of registration on the Eventbrite site. The invoice will be emailed to you within 2 days. Payment is then due within 10 days, and no later than May 21st.   *If you intend to pay by credit card, do NOT select the invoice option - those selecting the invoice option that later wish to pay by credit card will be required to re-register and will be placed on the waitlist if the course is at capacity.  All cancellation requests are subject to a $25 fee; NO refunds will be offered after registration closes (May 21st).
