The venue has also accommodated numerous touring Broadway productions over the years with hit shows such as Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King and Wicked all having been past inclusions on The Broward Center for the Performing Arts schedule.
The range of cultures celebrated through the arts at The Broward Center for the Performing Arts Fort Lauderdale is as diverse as the range of art forms themselves. Indeed, in 2006, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts Fort Lauderdale was recognized for its commitment to the Brazilian community of South Florida, and was designated a Point of Culture by the Brazilian Ministry of Culture.
