On the back of their Espy gig (Esplanade Hotel in Melbourne), which saw a mass of fans take to the pavement in hope of being among the few people to watch one of the most iconic bands in the history of Australia perform, ICEHOUSE are delighted to announce they will be performing for fans in Mackay!

In what can only be described as a sensational performance, ICEHOUSE played to a packed out crowd at the famous Esplanade Hotel in Melbourne, and the crowd were only too keen to sing along with Iva Davies. Joined on the stage by fellow musician, The Living End’s Chris Cheney for an encore, ICEHOUSE belted out their much loved tunes and a couple of covers to the delight of fans.

With a career spanning over thirty years, ICEHOUSE has continued to transcend age groups with their hit songs that are well known and loved by audiences across several generations. Beginning as a young Sydney cover band called Flowers, who filled venues weekly, the group’s debut album, Icehouse, topped the charts in 1980, becoming the highest selling debut album in Australia. Their second album, Primitive Man, produced the song Great Southern Land which has become an anthem for Australians everywhere.

With 11 albums and 8 special project releases, ICEHOUSE has a string of hits which audiences know and love including: Can’t Help Myself, We Can Get Together, Walls, Hey Little Girl, Street Café, Don’t Believe Anymore, Mr. Big, No Promises, Crazy, Electric Blue, My Obsession and Touch the Fire.

Today ICEHOUSE continues to make their mark on the Australian music scene with the band releasing their 30th Anniversary Edition of Flowers Icehouse earlier this year and following it up shortly with the release of White Heat: 30 Hits in August.

“Young bands take note. See Icehouse. They set the benchmark for live performance and can kick your arse.” Paul Cashmere, Undercover

"For those of us with a propensity to lose focus, there wasn’t an opportunity for boredom as the beats held a life of their own and nostalgia for the good old days brought back memories of sunny afternoons and times when we were free of responsibilities. We sang and dance and lost ourselves in the experience.” Sharon Brooks, Au Review
