Erie’s Colorful, Hard-knocking Political History from 1851 to present

This is a CelebrateErie Cultural Division Lecture Series: Erie leaders chose to become a city in 1851 because they wanted a community that could draw and support other businesses and workers in the spirit of growth and capitalism. But their journey, led by colorful characters, hard-nosed businessmen, and ethnic heroes, took wild twists and turns to the present day. The talk includes passages from Erie, Pennsylvania MAYORS: 150 Years of Political History, written by the late William P. Garvey, Ph.D., and edited by the presenter. - Class Instructor: Patrick Cuneo
