Papa Joe Smiddy Music Festival

This festival, presented by the Cove Ridge Foundation, promotes the musical heritage of Appalachian culture. Bands include Dr. Joe Smiddy and Reedy Creek, East Tennessee State University's (ETSU) Old Time Pride Band, ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band and the Barefoot Movement. Performers from the park's 2012 Pickin' in the Park play between scheduled bands. Tickets for students with a valid ID are $5. Children 12 and younger get in free, and general admission tickets are $15 at the gate after 4 p.m. Advance tickets are only $10 and are available starting in August at Natural Tunnel's main office.
