Alan Jackson in Mineral

I think there is none more deserving of this demand than the lovely town of Mineral. Between all the damage the earthquake caused and the 40 some after shocks.... a little music would be very nurturing for the hearts and souls of all the wonderful people of this town. Kudos for all the votes from everyone, to the folks of Mineral whose spirits and drive have kept them going, and to Alan Jackson for hosting this whole event.......

Apparently, with today being the last day to vote - Mineral leads far and above all others. Now the question becomes, how make this work as a fundraiser for those affected by the Earthquake? Logistically, there will be a burden (read... cost) to Louisa County to facilitate such an event. We need to organize volunteers to help alleviate as much of those costs as possible. I look forward to hearing from local officials how they are going to plan for this, and what help they might need!

Mineral, VA formerly known as Mineral City from its mining days - so many historic sites, etc., and everyone that still lives there knows and takes care of their neighbors. Having Alan Jackson perform would probably be the town's second most historic event - helping those from the first most historic - the earthquake that rocked the East Coast.

After all of the devasting with the earthquake. We need something exciting to happen. Mineral, Va deserve it. Keep on voting fans and lets win this.

As we all know this earthquake was devasting to everyone. Mineral Va is a little town where everyone help's each other an trying to rebuild this little town back. The people of this town has not lost their faith or love. This would be wonderful for this community to have Alan Jackson to perform in Mineral VA to brighten their spirits an strengthen the love and faith that they have not only for each other but for their town..

This just what WE need as a community, as we try to get things back together again after everything that has happen...devastating...nerves are still on the edge....

The events of August 23rd have left an impression not only on the citizens of Louisa County, but on the entire East Coast. The once little known town of Mineral, VA instantly became front page news. The true effect of the earthquake on people who live here was not as quickly reported as the news of the 5.8 magnitude earthquake was. Our only High School is damaged beyond repair and cannot be used. One of our four elementary schools was also damaged, and will most likely never be able to be used again either. Many, many people have significant damage to their homes, most of which are not covered by earthquake insurance. Thank God no one was seriously injured or worse. The psychological effects will take much longer to get through. Any time a rumble is heard...people stop and wait to see if it is a train, thunder, or an aftershock. We need something to take us away from all of this...even if it is for just a little while. A concert here would be a wonderful thing to raise spirits and peoples hopes. If nothing else...this contest has brought the citizens of Louisa County together for a common cause. Regardless of the outcome, this has been and will continue to be a good thing. Thanks for giving us this chance, and please continue to vote for Mineral, VA (23117) in the hopes that we can host Alan Jackson in Concert maybe at the Jungle...Thanks to all and God Bless!
