Description
However, in 1974, The Paramount Theater Charlottesville closed. The venue fended off threats of demolition for years before being purchased by the Paramount Theater, Inc. in 1992. With the aid of a grant from the City of Charlottesville, a major restoration project was put into operation.
The Paramount Theater Charlottesville reopened its doors to the public December 15, 2004. This time round however, the venue functions as a regional performing arts center. As well as the movie screenings for which it was first created, The Paramount Theater Charlottesville schedule now boasts a wide variety of live events and entertainment from the worlds of music, dance, theater, and comedy.
